This month's dinosaur is one of the longest animals that ever lived. His name is Diplodocus (say, “dih-PLAHD-uh-kuhs” ). Diplodocus grew to be about 100 feet long. No land animal living today comes even close to this great size. The biggest elephants are less than fifteen feet long. Even though he was very large, scientists think Diplodocus was probably gentle. He was a plant eater. We are not sure if he lived mostly in shallow water or mostly on land. Scientists say he could do both. Most of his length was in his neck and tail. His great size tells us something of the mighty power of our God!
